PNEUMATIC DISTRIBUTORS

What are pneumatic distributors?
Pneumatic distributors are mechanical devices that direct and regulate the movement of compressed air; they control the intake and exhaust, opening and closing, direction, and flow rate of compressed air to all its components and peripherals. They are typically pneumatic cylinders.
What types of pneumatic distributors are available?
The types of pneumatic distributors we could select from are:
- Position or direction control distributor (distributor valves): These valves control the direction and diversion of air to associated components. Start and stop.
- Flow distributor or flow control valve. Also called a flow control valve. Its function is to regulate the speed of the pneumatic cylinder by regulating the flow of compressed air.
- Pressure regulator or control valve. Its main function is to protect other components of the electrical circuit from overpressure. Therefore, if it detects high pressure in the circuit, reaching the maximum level, it will cut off the airflow. In this way, by opening and closing the airflow, it manages to constantly stabilize the pressure in the pneumatic circuit.
How do tire distributors and parts work?
A directional control valve consists of two distinct parts: the body, also known as the distributor, and the pilot or actuator. The body comprises a housing or casing, typically made of aluminum, which contains a slide valve or a flap that distributes compressed air from one port to another.
Piloting is the way we change the internal slide. There are several types:
- The pneumatic system, using a compressed air signal, moves the internal slider or clapper.
- Electrical. A coil with alternating or direct current creates a magnetic field and moves the internal slider or clapper.
- Manual, the movement of the slide or clapper is executed manually
- Mechanics. Made by mechanical elements, such as pulleys, antennas, limit switches, stops, pivots, etc.
They are simple components that are easy to assemble. They require little maintenance and are inexpensive to install. They offer long durability by simply replacing the gasket kit.
A universal symbology has been applied to identify each valve or distributor and the type of actuation.
