STAINLESS STEEL VALVES
What are stainless steel valves?
Stainless steel valves are devices designed to regulate, direct or cut off the flow of fluids (liquids or gases) in a system, manufactured totally or partially in stainless steel, a material characterized by its high resistance to corrosion, durability and ease of cleaning.
Stainless steel valves are especially suitable for working in aggressive or demanding environments, where there may be humidity, chemicals, high temperatures or strict hygiene requirements.
What types of stainless steel manual valves do we have available?
We could select the types of stainless steel valves from:
- Ball valves, also known as sphere valves , are a type of stopcock used to regulate the flow of a fluid in a pipe. They are characterized by an internal regulating mechanism in the form of a perforated sphere. A Teflon gasket ensures a tight seal.
- Butterfly valves: A butterfly valve is a device for interrupting or regulating the flow of a fluid in a pipe by increasing or decreasing the cross-sectional area of the flow using a plate or disc, called a "butterfly," that rotates on an axis. By decreasing the flow area, the local pressure drop across the valve increases, reducing the flow. The closure mechanism varies depending on the fluid being circulated. It can be made of EPDM, NBR, or PTFE.
What are the applications of stainless steel valves?
These valves are widely used in industries such as food, pharmaceutical, chemical, water treatment, marine or petrochemical, where it is essential to prevent fluid contamination and ensure a long equipment lifespan.
What technical parameters should be considered when selecting a stainless steel valve?
- Working pressure (PN)
- Serving temperature
- Type of fluid (corrosiveness, viscosity)
- Nominal diameter (DN)
- Connection type (thread, flange, clamp)
- Drive system (manual, pneumatic, electric)
Are stainless steel valves suitable for food use?
Yes, provided they comply with specific regulations (such as FDA or CE 1935/2004) and are manufactured from suitable materials such as AISI 316 with sanitary finishes.
