Essentially, a pneumatic distributor is a valve that controls the flow of compressed air through its various channels. They are operated by several methods, including electric solenoids, compressed air, or manually.

Our variety of configurations

At Disumtec, we can classify pneumatic distributors in two ways. On the one hand, they can be grouped according to the number of channels and positions they have:

2/2 valves: Two-way, two-position (open/closed). They are used to control the flow of air.
3/2 valves: Three-way, two-position valves. They allow the control of single-acting cylinders.
5/2 valves: Five-way, two-position valves. They are used to control double-acting cylinders.
5/3 Valves : Five-way, three-position valves. They offer greater control in applications requiring intermediate positions.

On the other hand, we can differentiate them by the type of drive , which will depend on the application and the control system used.

Manual operation

This type allows for direct and simple control of compressed air flow. Its operation is based on a mechanical mechanism that, when manually operated without the need for electrical or pneumatic signals, modifies the position of an internal valve, allowing or blocking the passage of air. This is done using levers, pushbuttons, pedals, or selectors.

The most common uses are in industrial automation, mobile machinery, or security systems.

Mechanical drive

It directs the flow of compressed air within a pneumatic system and is powered by compressed air. Unlike other models, these use air pressure to change their state and direct the flow, allowing for remote and automated control of the airflow.

They are widely used in explosive environments, as they do not generate sparks.

Electric drive

It is an essential component in automated pneumatic systems. It is a valve that controls the flow of compressed air using electrical signals, enabling the automation of industrial processes.

They are used in a wide variety of industrial applications, such as automated assembly lines, robotics, packaging machinery, and process control systems.

Pneumatic drive

The valve is actuated by compressed air. That is, instead of using electric solenoids or manual levers, compressed air is used to change the position of the obturator within the valve. This type of actuation can provide a large force to move the obturator, allowing for the handling of large air flows.

They are found in industrial automation facilities, complex control systems, or hazardous environments where there is a risk of explosions.
