TEFLON SEALING THREAD

Teflon sealing thread is made of 100% polytetrafluoroethylene ( PTFE ), a synthetic polymer resistant to corrosion, aggressive chemicals, and high temperatures. It is a sealing material used to create airtight, leak-proof joints on pipe threads and fittings.

Applications: food industry, chemical industry, pneumatic and hydraulic installations, heating systems, plumbing installations.

Teflon sealing thread

Teflon sealing thread is a material used in plumbing and mechanics to ensure watertightness in threaded joints, preventing leaks of liquids or gases.

It is a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) filament designed to be wound around male threads, creating a hermetic seal by filling the micro-gaps between the threaded surfaces.

It is made of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), a plastic material with very useful properties:

  • High chemical resistance
  • Low friction
  • High sealing capacity

How does it work?

The thread is wrapped around the thread of the pipe or fitting before screwing it on. When the joint is tightened, the material compresses, filling the spaces between the threads and thus preventing fluid leakage.
